Nissan’s 2023 Versa Has Style, Efficiency and Safety at an Unbeatable Price

November 9th, 2022 by

The $2 million Pinanfarina Battista with 1,900 horsepower (zero to 60 mph in 2 seconds!) is breathtaking. But would we drive it on crowded city streets? Nope, uh-uh, are you kidding!?

The 2023 Nissan Versa subcompact sedan (seats 5 to the Battista’s two) is a more logical choice for transportation that’s modestly priced, has excellent fuel economy and an enjoyable ride.

In a time when many automakers are ditching their subcompacts, Nissan is livening up the Versa with some exterior updating, a great ride, and high-tech safety features. Oh, and that fuel economy, which  Car and Driver calls “impressive.”

By the Numbers

  • Three trim levels: S(base), SV and SR
  • 1.6-liter, 122-hp four-cylinder engine
  • Five-speed manual (S trim) or continuously variable transmission (SR and SV)

Good-Looking Inside and Out

The 2023 Nissan Versa has a restyled front end with a bold V-Motion grille. The SR also has exclusive badging, dark chrome accents, black mirrors, and a spoiler. The wheel covers have been redesigned in a split five-spoke style, and 17-inchers are available.

Inside, you’ll find soft-touch surfaces on the dash and doors. Available features include Zero Gravity and heated front seats, with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter. Cargo space is ample with a 14.7-cubic foot pass-through trunk and fold-down 60/40 split seats.

The Versa SR has an 8-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, hands-free entry, remote start, and a WiFi hotspot. Fully digital gauges are customizable; tailor them to your wants and needs. Both SR and SV are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible. The SV also offers wireless charging.

Safety Is Built In

The 2023 Nissan Versa offers Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which includes available driver assist features. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on the SV and SR and includes:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Rear Automatic Braking
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • High-Beam Assist

The reviewers at Car and Driver got it right when they said the 2023 Nissan Versa “is a handsome, frugal and solidly capable daily commuter vehicle.” You can see it at Schomp Nissan of Littleton.
